FEMA Grant State Fire Marshal receives federal funds for safety initiative

The North Carolina Department of Insurance and the Office of the State Fire Marshal announced Tuesday that it has received significant federal funding to kick start a statewide public safety initiative that is promised to influence each individual county.

The department has been awarded $303,500 from the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency to purchase materials and provide educational services to fire and rescue organizations across the state.
