Local residents and community leaders joined area entrepreneurs on Friday afternoon to meet with Gov. Pat McCrory, who traveled from the state’s capitol to tour downtown Morganton. The group stopped in with small business owners on Sterling Street before moving to Abele’s Family Restaurant, where an open discussion was held about what McCrory has slated for North Carolina’s future.

“I just love your town. It’s good to be in Morganton,” McCrory said with a smile as he made his way onto the sidewalk. “I’ve been here before, and your mayor gave me a tour in the past. But it’s great to be back.”
