Catawba Brewing Co. and Josh Goodfellow of Codex Sound Co. are partnering for Open Stage to help raise funds for local nonprofits. This month's recipient is Lake James Environmental Association. A portion of Farmer Ted's beer sales will go to the organization. Goodfellow and Scott Moss of the band Big Daddy Love will be running the Open Stage performances. The Natural Olive on West Union Street in downtown Morganton will have music by Jacktown Ramblers tonight from 7-9 p.m. and a free wine tasting with Lake James Cellars. The event is free.

History Museum of Burke County — 201 W. Meeting St. Hours of operation include: Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. New Fort San Juan/Joara exhibit documents the 1567-68 encounter of Spanish explorers with Native Americans in an area 10 miles west of present-day Morganton. The Waldensian Trail of Faith — 401 Church St., Valdese. The Trail of Faith is an 11-acre outdoor museum containing 15 buildings and monuments portraying the journey of the Waldenses from 1170 A.D. Open year-round. For more information, call 828-874-1893 or visit trailoffaith.com.
