FRIDAY, JAN. 18

Brews and Tunes

Oracle Blue, an enticingly unequivocal when it comes to genre-branding, marrying musical nostalgia with newfangled soundscapes, will take the stage from 8-11 p.m. at Catawba Brewing Co. Under the banners of Swank-Pop and Alt-Jazz they craft for themselves a realm entirely their own with strong female vocals garnished by multi-instrumentalists in the rhythm and horn sections. The brewery is located at 212 S. Green St.

Bluegrass Show

The Old Rock School, 400 Main St. W. Valdese, will welcome Jimmy Fortune and Nu-Blue to the stage on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets on sale.

Brews and Tunes

Brown Mountain Bottleworks will welcome musical duo Love Like This on Friday from 7:30 to 10 p.m. for some "blue collar music." BMB is located at 115 E. Union St. in downtown Morganton.

Dungeons and Dragons

Dungeons, Dragons and one other thing. Join us for our very first evening of adventuring into strange and new realms. Our dungeon master will guide you on a journey of discovery and you may roll some dice too. Fun times will be had by all. Charter creation will begin at 5 p.m. with the game proper starting at 6.

Brews and Tunes

Get ready to rock as the explosive band TNT returns to Catawba Brewing Co. for their mix of rock hits from '80s through today. The band will play from 8-11 p.m. and the brewery is located at 212 S. Green St.

Sip and Jam

Silver Fork Winery, 5000 Patton Road in Morganton, will welcome Southern Blue band Southern Style on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Music to Dine By

The Alligators will take the stage at The Grind Café on Saturday from 7:30-10:30 p.m. with some semi-acoustic material to open with Bill V on slide guitar and banjo, and Jake Clapp holding down the bottom. The second set will be Gators' power-trio blues and classic rock to end each set. The Grind is located at 136 W. Union St. in downtown Morganton. Tickets are $6.

Open Stage benefitting Lake James Environmental Association will be held Sunday at 6 p.m. at Catawba Brewing Co., 212 S. Green St.

Catawba Brewing Co. and Josh Goodfellow of Codex Sound Co. are partnering for Open Stage to help raise funds for local nonprofits. This month's recipient is Lake James Environmental Association. A portion of Farmer Ted's beer sales will go to the organization. Goodfellow and Scott Moss of the band Big Daddy Love will be running the Open Stage performances. History Museum of Burke County — 201 W.
