Head out to Catawba Brewing Co. and test your knowledge with Tar Heel Trivia. Teams of up to eight people can compete to win prizes for first-, second- and third-place finishes. Trivia is held from 7-9 p.m.

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 20

Open Stage

Catawba Brewing Co. and Josh Goodfellow of Codex Sound Co. are partnering for Open Stage to help raise funds for local nonprofits. This month's recipient is Lake James Environmental Association. A portion of Farmer Ted's beer sales will go to the organization. Goodfellow and Scott Moss of the band Big Daddy Love will be running the Open Stage performances. The backline will be provided; drums, bass amp, and guitar amps. For more information, contact Josh Goodfellow at 828-443-2169. Join us every Wednesday in January at 6 p.m. to support The Meeting Place Mission. Don’t miss the music, fun and good brews.

Useless Knowledge Variety Hour - Trivia Night will be held at 7 p.m. at The Levee Pub and Brewery in Valdese. Come out to be vexed, perplexed and entertained. The brewery is located at 118 Main St. W, Valdese.

Broadway Show

Nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Rock of Ages captures the iconic era that was the big bad 1980's Hollywood. The show will come to CoMMA on Thursday from 7:30-10 p.m. Know What Love Is, Feel the Noise, and Take Your Best Shot at one of the Sunset Strip's last epic venues, a place where the legendary Stacee Jaxx returns to the stage and rock 'n' roll dreamers line up to turn their fantasies into reality.

Featuring the music of hit bands such as Styx, Poison, Twisted Sister, and Whitesnake among many others, this 10th Anniversary production features a dynamic new cast revisiting the larger than life characters and exhilarating story that turned Rock of Ages into a global phenomenon. History Museum of Burke County — 201 W. Meeting St. Hours of operation include: Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A total of 10,000 square feet on two floors highlights Burke County’s prehistory through the 1970s. There are more than 20 permanent exhibits in open-room settings that allow visitors to enter Frankie Silver’s cabin, a general store, a 1950s bedroom and Civil War and military displays, among others. Rock School Arts Foundation — 400 W. Main St., Valdese. Galleries I & II, Studio 101. Hours 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and weekends by appointment. Rock School Arts presents a multi-media exhibition by the Rock School Arts Foundation Board Members in Gallery I and II. The exhibit runs through March 1. Folks are invited to join a free Make and Take workshop on Saturday, March 23, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. in Studio 101. An RSAF board member will teach Gelli Printmaking, a form of printmaking done as a monoprint where artists achieve one print for each image. All materials are provided, but participants can bring items to use for texture such as bubble wrap, stamps and found objects to make a stamp or stencil. The Waldensian Trail of Faith — 401 Church St., Valdese. The Trail of Faith is an 11-acre outdoor museum containing 15 buildings and monuments portraying the journey of the Waldenses from 1170 A.D. Open year-round. For more information, call 828-874-1893 or visit trailoffaith.com.
