Animal lovers braved the rain on Saturday and headed out to Mimosa Hills Farms annual Family Day to enjoy some farm living. The event is a way for locals to see and ride horses and pet some of the farm's other animals, such as alpacas, a llama, a bunch of goats and sheep and all kinds of chickens and turkeys that roam around. The farm, owned by Crosby Reed and located at 671 Hopewell Road in Morganton, also offers summer camps and riding lessons for all ages.
