HICKORY — Members of Full Circle Arts, a nonprofit cooperative dedicated to the promotion and understanding of art in and around Hickory, believe in supporting the cultural life of the area, as well as providing a good time and place for people to start looking for holiday gifts.

The gallery will hold its 11th Fund-Raising Silent Auction from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26. The gallery is at 42-B Third St. NW, Hickory.

The purpose of the auction is to raise funds for the gallery to support competitions for artists, educational programs and events.

The auction will include more than 120 items donated by artists and local organizations and businesses. Refreshments will be served.

Along with the silent auction, there will be an art raffle for a painting called “Reaching for the Light” by Meredith Janssen, and a 50/50 cash raffle.

Music will be provided by Emily Stober, a talented young singer who has attended summer programs of the Institute of American Musical Theatre in New York City and played Sophie Sheridan in the Hickory Community Theater’s production of “Mama Mia” last May, among other performances.

A preview of the auction items can be seen at Full Circle Arts. Bidding will end at 7:30 p.m. the evening of the auction. Tickets are $15 per person.
