A Morganton man is facing robbery and drug charges after a woman said he stole her car at gun point this month.

Jason Robert Hill, 33, of 3063 Brandon Road, Morganton, was charged with common-law robbery and possession of methamphetamine on Sept. 11, according to a release from the Burke County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were dispatched on Sept. 10 to a home at Blue Ridge Ventures after a woman said her vehicle and other personal property was stolen at gun point by Hill, the release said.

Hill was found at around 10:30 p.m. the next night walking along N.C. 18 and George Hildebran School Road near Kelly’s Quick Stop, the release said. Hill gave a false name at first, but a deputy was able to identify him.

Hill was issued a $25,000 secured bond and has a court date set for Oct. 4, the release said.
