SPRUCE PINE - A Burke County couple have announced that they purchased the Blue Ridge Christian News, headquartered in Spruce Pine.
Brian and Michelle Barrier, along with Michelle’s mother, Cathy Pritchard of Morganton, recently took over operations of the 48-page monthly publication from Doug and Barbara Harrell of Mitchell County.
The Blue Ridge Christian News is a faith-based newspaper that includes reports on local church events and ministries, features about the local faith community and columns by area pastors and Christian leaders. The publication boasts a circulation of 16,000 copies and is currently distributed in Burke, McDowell, Mitchell, Avery and Yancey Counties with some coverage in Madison County as well.
Brian, Michelle and Cathy are all lifelong residents of Burke County.
