A Morganton woman was charged with two drug trafficking charges in two days.
Tammy Lynn Pittman, 42, of 1890 Bristol Creek Ave., was charged with felony trafficking in methamphetamine, felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place, felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a press release from the Burke County Sheriff’s Office.
On Oct. 15, Sheriff’s Office detectives executed a search warrant — with the help of Morganton Department of Public Safety and North Carolina Probation and Parole — at Pittman’s listed address, where they seized trafficking amounts of methamphetamine and multiple items of drug paraphernalia, charges for which she was issued warrants, according to the release.
On Oct. 16, MDPS initiated an investigative traffic stop involving Pittman and seized a new trafficking amount of methamphetamine, for which she was issued additional warrants. She was transported to the magistrate office and served with the pending warrants regarding the search warrant on Oct. 15, the release said.
Pittman’s criminal history includes a previous conviction for maintaining a place for controlled substance, according to the North Carolina Department of Public Safety website.
Her bond was set at $40,000 secured for the charges related to the traffic stop on Oct. 16, and $63,000 secured for the charges on Oct. 15. Her court date is set for Nov. 6.
