Red Dirt Revelators will bring the blues this Friday, July 20, at the TGIF concert.
Folks are invited to bring a chair or blanket and enjoy the free performance on the Historic Burke County Courthouse lawn. Food and beverage vendors open at 6 p.m. with a range of tasty treats and scrumptious specials. Music kicks off at 7 p.m.
Emotional, powerful and original are words best used to describe North Carolina’s Red Dirt Revelators. The 2014 IBC semifinalists more than deliver for audiences.
Singer-songwriter Willie Shane Johnston’s searing voice and harmonica are like a runaway train on course for a head on collision with incendiary guitar of Jamie Trollinger. As the voice and melody capture the listener’s ear, the pounding rhythm section of bassist Clay Ford and drummer Jason Gardner bring listeners in deeper. The lyrics are shaped by Johnston’s experience growing up in Grenada, Mississippi, and tell stories that only the Red Dirt Revelators can.
All TGIF concerts are part of a free concert series. This week’s concert is sponsored by Carolinas HealthCare System Blue Ridge, The Morganton News Herald, Burke County Board of Realtors, Burke County Multiple Listing Service, Judge’s Riverside BBQ, Kicks 103.3 FM, The Kitchen Connection, ServPro and Small and Martin Orthodontics. Thanks to the continued support of all the series’ sponsors, TGIF continues to offer high quality entertainment free to everyone.
TGIF is rain or shine event. No personal coolers and no pets will be allowed onsite. TGIF concerts are smoke free, including electronic cigarettes. The TGIF concert series is a production of Historic Morganton Festival Inc.
