Two local students graduated from their respective colleges, while a third local student received an acceptance letter to another college.

» Mitchell Menard, of Hickory, has earned a Bachelor of Science in computer engineering from the Georgia Tech (Georgia Institute of Technology) in Atlanta.

Menard was among approximately 4,200 undergraduate and graduate students who received degrees during Georgia Tech’s 258th commencement exercises at the McCamish Pavilion.

Another local student earned a bachelor’s degree from a Florida college.

» Haley Sailors, of Nebo, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Pensacola Christian College.

Haley is among approximately 1,000 students who receive undergraduate, masters, and doctoral degrees each year. These graduates will be recognized at PCC’s 45th Commencement ceremony, to be held May 8.

Elsewhere, a third local student has been accepted to University of the Cumberlands.

» MacKenzie Ingle, of Vale, has been accepted for the upcoming academic year. Ingle is welcomed into the UC Class of 2024.

Ingle will be among 1,800 other students on the UC Williamsburg campus finding academic opportunity in more than 40 majors, more than 30 clubs and student organizations, 28 athletic teams and a commitment to affordability in a private, liberal-arts education.
