VALDESE — A Hickory man received a drug charge after police responded to a disturbance call earlier this month.
Andrew Joseph Auten, 19, of 3050 Falling Creek Road in Hickory, was charged with possession of cocaine on July 11, according to a release from the Burke County Sheriff’s Office.
Officers responded to 2440 Tunnel Road in Valdese for a disturbance call, where Auten resisted officers’ commands and appeared impaired, the release said.
Cocaine was found in Auten’s pocket during the investigation, the release said.
Auten received a $3,000 secured bond, with a court date set for Aug. 2.
Valdese Police Department assisted with the call.
