MORGANTON Ollie Frye "Bell" Crooks, 89, of Morganton, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, May 25, 2019. Bell was born to the late Albert Frye and Adell Buchanan Frye, May 30, 1929, in Mitchell County. Bell enjoyed gardening and canning the fruits of her labor to share with others. She grew beautiful flowers. She had a love for children and family. Bell will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, Bell was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Cuba Crooks Jr.; four brothers; and five sisters. Those left behind to cherish her memory include two daughters, Johnnie Sue Webb of Burke County, Debbie Hipps and her husband, Johnny, of Nebo; a brother, Jim Frye of Tennessee; a sister, Vista Regan of Pennsylvania; a grandson, Ben Campbell and his wife, Becca; and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 30, in the chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home. Entombment in Burke Memorial Park's Mausoleum will follow. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service.
