CALDWELL COUNTY — A three-month investigation was brought to an end Wednesday when Caldwell County investigators arrested a Morganton man for trafficking methamphetamine.
Ger Love Lee, 54, of 2965 Piney Road in Morganton, was charged with felony trafficking in methamphetamine by transportation and felony trafficking in methamphetamine by possession, according to a press release from the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office.
Lee was taken into custody during an undercover sting after he agreed to bring 3 ounces of methamphetamine to sell to an undercover officer, the release said. Agents placed Lee under arrest when the undercover agent met with Lee and confirmed he had the drugs.
A total of 290.9 grams of methamphetamine was seized during the investigation, the release said. The methamphetamine had a street value of $43,635.
More charges against Lee are expected, the release said. He was convicted of felony possession of a controlled substance in 2007, according to the North Carolina Department of Public Safety website.
Lee was issued a $200,000 secured bond with a court date set for Friday in Caldwell County District Court, the release said.
