A Morganton man is facing four criminal charges after officers say he broke into and robbed a local hair salon.
Jason Antonio Lytle, 39, of Morganton, has been charged with breaking or entering any building with the intent to commit a felony or larceny, larceny after breaking or entering, felony possession of stolen goods, and injury to real property.
The charges came after officers with the Morganton Department of Public Safety say he broke into and robbed Premiere Studio, located at 101 Lenoir St. in Morganton, according to a release from the department.
On Saturday at 4:43 a.m., officers from MDPS were dispatched to an alarm call at the hair salon. When officers arrived, they located a broken window at the rear of the business. The suspect entered the building through the broken window and stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the business. The suspect exited the building and left the area prior to the officers’ arrival. The suspect was identified as a black male wearing a shirt with “U2” on the back of it, blue jeans and tennis shoes.
On Sunday, Lt. J. Brown located a person matching the description of the suspect from the case in the area of Burger King on South Sterling Street. During an investigation of the person, PSO D. Smith located the shirt worn during the breaking and entering into the salon in the possession of the subject at 11:32 p.m. The person was identified as Lytle.
Lytle was placed in Burke-Catawba District Confinement Facility under a $10,000 secure bond. His court date was Tuesday.
