Louis Pugh has retired after nine years as executive director of The Enola Group.

The Enola Group is a nonprofit organization serving Alexander, Burke and Caldwell counties that provides services for adults and young children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, eligible families with young children ages birth to age 5 years, and women who are pregnant.

Pugh successfully led The Enola Group through a reorganization , and under his leadership both the Enola Group’s Signature Day Program and the Early Head Start Program flourished. His guidance and mentorship were instrumental in helping to create a strong team of leaders and staff who are dedicated to the mission of The Enola Group.

The Enola Group has appointed Linda Wilson as the organization’s new executive director. Wilson is a resident of Burke County and has served as the Enola Group Early Head Start Director for the past six years. Her work history includes employment in direct service to children and families, program development, research and program administration.

“It’s an honor to work for The Enola Group,” said Wilson, “The organization is well respected and the work we do is important to those we serve and to the community.”
