HILDEBRAN — A Taylorsville man was charged after police responded to a suspicious person call last month.
Matthew Jordan Hall, 31, of 258 Steve Watts Drive in Taylorsville, was charged with felony possession of a schedule I controlled substance on June 15, according to a release from the Burke County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to Fast Track convenience store at 400 S . Center St. in Hildebran to investigate a suspicious person hanging out in and around the store, the release said. Hall was found in a vehicle.
He did not have a valid driver’s license, and police seized heroin from the vehicle, the release said.
Hall’s criminal history dates back to 2013, with convictions of possession of a schedule I controlled substance, possession of a schedule II controlled substance, receiving stolen goods and possession or distribution of a methamphetamine precursor, according to the N.C. Department of Public Safety website.
His bond was set at $10,000, the release said. He has a court date set for Monday, according to the N.C. Judicial Branch website.
