Maston Samuel "Buddy" Parham Jr. LINVILLE Maston Samuel "Buddy" Parham Jr., 75, of Linville, died Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at his home. He was born in Gaston County, the son of the late Major General Maston Samuel Parham Sr. and Gwendlyn Sue Parham. Buddy started his undergraduate degree at Wake Forest University and finished at Phifer University after returning home from the U.S. Army, where he voluntarily joined as an MP and spent time in Vietnam. He later graduated from Gardner Web with his MBA. Buddy was a 3rd generation master baker, as well as owning multiple bakeries he spent a large part of his career in Human Relations. His passion was his family, his three sons, his three granddaughters, being in the kitchen, spending time with his Morganton High School Class (1962), and telling stories of his high school football days. The stories we have all heard whether we wanted to or not like playing Hickory High with a 0 0 win during the last game of the season, carrying on through downtown Morganton as the police looked the other way, playing war games on the farm, and his favorite, playing with dynamite; with all this he managed to make it to 75. If Buddy wasn't in the kitchen making bread or teaching his sons or granddaughters, you would find him with his guitar picking and singing. He is survived by his spouse, Brinda Gay and his children, Marc S. Parham and wife, Erin, Joshua S. Parham and cat, Jose, Jonathan S. Parham and spouse, Dennis; grandchildren, Ella S. Parham, Grace M. Parham, and Macy Sue Parham; along with his sister, Gwendlyn Sue Grose and husband, Don, Cousin Butch VonCannon and wife, Garner, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Services for Maston will be private. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Medi-Home Hospice, 1955 Newland Hwy., 205, Newland, NC 28657 An online guestbook and obituary is available at www.heritagefuneralservices.com. Heritage Funeral Service & Crematory of Valdese is serving the Parham family.
