Freedom boys basketball senior guard Bradley Davis is The News Herald’s Farm Bureau high school county athlete of the week for games played Nov. 25-30.

In Tuesday night’s season-opening 69-35 nonconference home win over archrival East Burke, Davis scored a game-high 22 points. Davis added six rebounds in the victorious effort over the Cavaliers in new FHS head coach Clint Zimmerman’s debut.

After leading just 16-10, Davis scored 10 straight for the Patriots to push the Freedom lead up to 27-12. Davis later scored five more in a row for the hosts to take the advantage out to 37-15. The Patriots never led by fewer than 20 points the rest of the way.

The News Herald will award an athlete of the week for all sports throughout the year.
