Freedom wide receiver Joseph Cunningham breaks away from the pack for one of his three touchdowns against Patton at home Thursday.

Ty Little connected with Joseph Cunningham for three first-half touchdown passes as the host Freedom JV football team defeated rival Patton on Thursday, 34-0.

Little passed for five TDs in all, also finding Zac Pinkerton (from 18 yards out) and Philly Harris (32 yards) for a score apiece. Little completed 10 of 22 passes for 260 yards, and Cunningham hauled in five passes for a game-high 168 yards all in the opening half.

Avery Pollard paced Freedom (2-0) with 60 rushing yards and added a fumble recovery and tackle for loss defensively. Little and Malaki Lloyd (fumble recovery) rushed for a two-point conversion apiece.

Also leading FHS’ defense were Tyler Moore, Chris Hinsley and Curt Young with a tackle for loss each.

DeShawn Cantrell-Vazquez led the Panthers (1-2) with 31 rushing yards. Trevor Smith and Brayden Vance each had a stop in the backfield for the Patton defense.

 

Cherryville 44, Draughn 0

The JV Wildcats (0-2, 0-1 Northwestern Foothills 2A Conf.) were blanked Thursday at home in nonconference action. No more details were available.
