HICKORY — Lenoir-Rhyne's Jaquan Artis and Kyle Dugger on Tuesday were named American Football Coaches Association second team All-Americans.

Dugger, a senior defensive back who was a Don Hansen honorable mention All-American as a return specialist last year, had 31 tackles, two interceptions (one for a touchdown) and four pass breakups this year.

Artis, a senior defensive lineman who was South Atlantic Conference defensive player of the year, is tied for the NCAA Division II lead with 14 sacks and is fourth in the nation in tackles for loss (22.5).

L-R also recently announced its third-round playoff home game vs. West Florida will kick off Saturday at 1 p.m. The Bears (13-0) ride D-II’s longest home streak at 15 games, which is also a program record.
