WINSTON-SALEM — The JDL Fast Track is again the site for this weekend’s NCHSAA indoor track state championship meets, with the 1A/2A meet Friday at the 3A meet set for Saturday.

Both events start at 4 p.m., and the facility opens for coaches, athletes, fans and media at 2:30 p.m.

On Friday, Draughn will be represented by senior Cooper Abernathy (boys long jump, 19 seed), sophomore Leanna Seagraves (girls pole vault, 3 seed), senior Josh Betancourt (boys pole vault, 8 seed), senior Josh Ross (boys 1600 meters, 12 seed; 3200 meters, 8 seed) and Amber Opp (girls 3200 meters; 6 seed).

Seagraves is the reigning 1A/2A outdoor state champion in the event.

On Saturday, Freedom junior JQ Michaux will participate in the boys long jump as he enters seeded 13th. Michaux also joins Patriots classmates Dylan Brittain and Hank Yelton with sophomore Walt Swan in the final meet of the day, the boys 4x400 relay.
