LAKEWOOD, N.J. (AP) -- Tyreque Reed hit a two-run home run and had two hits, driving in three as the Hickory Crawdads topped the Lakewood BlueClaws 6-2 on Wednesday.

Lakewood cut the deficit to 3-1 in the second after Ben Pelletier hit an RBI single, driving in Cole Stobbe.

Hickory answered in the next half-inning when Reed hit a two-run home run.

The Crawdads tacked on another run in the fifth when Melvin Novoa hit an RBI single, scoring Matt Whatley.

Nick Snyder (2-1) got the win with three innings of scoreless relief while Lakewood starter Kevin Gowdy (0-4) took the loss in the South Atlantic League game.
